Call for Rwandan NGOs, CSOs, CBOs, & companies to support UNESCO’s O3 Programme. Apply now!

UNESCO is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local NGOs, CSOs, CBOs, and companies in Rwanda to support the implementation of the "Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future" (O3) Programme in 2025.

This initiative focuses on improving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, preventing gender-based violence (GBV), and enhancing education outcomes for adolescents and young people (ages 10-24).

Eligible organizations must have at least five years of experience in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and SRHR programming. The deadline for submissions is May 30, 2025, at 17:00 Kigali Time.

Key Programme Activities

Selected partners will support UNESCO in delivering critical interventions, including:

1. Advocacy & Policy Development

  • Engage policymakers (ministers, parliamentarians, councillors) on CSE, SRHR, and school violence prevention.

  • Support the development and review of intersectoral school health policies linked to health and GBV response services.

2. Strengthening CSE Delivery in Schools

  • Enhance teacher training and mentoring for effective CSE delivery.

  • Mobilize CSOs and strengthen the Connect and Learn Community of Practice (CoP).

  • Train teachers and curriculum developers on inclusive CSE for learners with disabilities.

3. Digital Literacy & Youth Engagement

  • Facilitate access to digital SRHR information for young people.

  • Collaborate with youth to develop digital literacy and online safety campaigns.

4. School Retention & Data Integration

  • Develop guidelines for retaining pregnant girls and re-entry of young mothers into education.

  • Strengthen education sector data systems to track SRHR and school violence indicators.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, organizations must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Requirements

  1. 5+ years of national experience in CSE, SRHR, or GBV programming.
  2. Proposed coordinator must have 5+ years of experience in CSE/SRHR project management.
  3. Valid registration with RGB/RDB and MoUs with the Rwandan government.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. 3+ national projects implemented in CSE, SRHR, or GBV prevention.
  2. Experience with UNESCO, UN, or World Bank projects.
  3. Strong background in qualitative & quantitative education methodologies.

  • RGB/RDB certificates, MoUs, and relevant policies.
